More About Vijay
Background Info
27 years old.
Senior Software Engineer, been with TLA for 2 years.
He gets excellent feedback and has an awesome reputation. Several teams try to steal him monthly.
He has an old Burmese cat that requires injected fluids and tons of meds every day. This can sometimes interfere with Vijay’s ability to arrive to work on time.
Vijay has a girlfriend, but no one has met her.
Prior to DFI, Vijay was on several key projects.
Disposition
He is friendly and eager to please others.
He is quiet, introverted, and reflective.
Hard worker.
Under stress he tends to shut down and get mopey.
He hates conflict.
He seems most comfortable when he has clarity about the boundaries and scope of his work.
His co-workers like and respect him.
Work
Vijay joined the DFI team as soon as it came together.
While initially happy, he is seemingly getting more and more frustrated that the work he does seems just tactical (creating style sheets, etc.).
He wants to get promoted into management, leading the strategy of the framework’s features. He wants more responsibility.
He has shared his frustration with a couple of people, including Bob, but has mostly kept it to himself.
His frustration is causing him to work less enthusiastically. He seems slightly depressed and unhappy, but these are just your reads – he has not confirmed these feelings.
A less enthusiastic Vijay could lead to lower productivity on the team, a drop in team health, or Vijay leaving the group or TLA all together.
You don’t want Vijay to leave. He is vital to the development process.
